Last weekend I got together with a some friends and had a Christmas Crafternoon. We “craftted” burlap wreaths with red and white chevron bows! I found this awesome, easy project in the December 2012 issue of Emma Magazine (which if you haven’t checked it out, stop what you’re doing and flip though it’s pages…it’s that good)!
Since it’s become a tradition to snack and enjoy a yummy cocktail while we craft I made a big spread this time. I made a simple blood orange, pear and rum cocktail. All you do is mix blood orange italian soda (or blood orange juice with some soda water), pear nectar and light rum. So yummy. I made herbed pinwheels out of fresh herbs, garlic and puff pastry. I also made a parmesan and smoked paprika version which was a crowd favorite. I served some baked Brie with pear and apple chutney on top and pom-pom topped skewers of fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and grapes. For sweets, I served the cookies I baked the other day. Some friends also brought cake pops and chocolate dipped Oreos. It was definitely a delicious and fun way to spend a holiday evening.
Hooray! I’ve been looking for something to give to my mum for Christmas and a fabric wreath is just the ticket. Thank you for the inspiration.
Also, your red velvet pancakes look simply delicious.
@Emma Glad I could help! And thanks, the pancakes we so yummy :)
