Monogram Cork Board Wall Tiles

What's a better way to make your home unique than with a monogram! Learn how to create this DIY monogram cork board.

So it may not quite be wedding season yet, but if you’re engaged, it’s wedding registry season! And if you’re like Kevin and I, Target will become your go to place for everything home. Target’s Wedding registry is packed with tons of must-have items that you’ll definitely want to add to your registry… and tons of items that you didn’t even think you needed (like a Dyson DC65 Animal Upright Vacuum—I love ours)!

One of the things that was important to us when we completed our wedding registry was choosing items that we loved and that were us. Some of my favorite items in our home are really simple things that I customized with a little DIY. Because when everyone else can have the same thing it’s fun to make your home as unique as you and your spouse. Rather than have a traditional linen closet, we opted for open shelving loaded with baskets. I painted old business with chalkboard paint and attached them to the baskets to create labels for each one. Now we both never have to wonder what goes where or where the extra toilet paper is because it’s so clearly marked. So simple, yet so functional. I just love projects like that!

Another fun (and functional) project is to customize cork tiles into a monogram board.

Supplies:
– The Board Dudes Cork Board Tiles
– Printed monogram letter template
– Tape
– Utility or craft knife
– Cutting mat (if you don’t have one you can also use a sheet of thick cardboard to cut on)
– Strong double-sided tape or all-purpose glue

Print out a larger block letter and use it as a template to create your own cork monogram.

Step 1: Use a word processing program to create a template of your monogram letter. Since the titles are 12″ x 12″ you will need to print your letter on multiple sheets of paper and piece them together using tape.

Use cork titles to create a monogram cork board. Love this idea for my entry way table.

Step 2: Tape the monogram letter to one sheet of cork. Then use your craft or utility knife to cut out the letter. Repeat this step with another sheet of cork.

This DIY cork monogram is perfect for displaying photos, reminders, or other special items in your home.

Step 3: Use strong double-sided tape or all-purpose glue to adhere both layers together. If using glue, allow it to dry completely it’s ready to be used! You can place the letter on a desktop or use the adhesive mounting squares that come with the tiles to display it on the wall.

Target is full of tons and tons of great items (which you totally already knew) and many of them are the perfect starting point for great DIY projects. Here are a few of my favorite registry finds and some tips on how to make them perfectly you.

1. Jenga. Make game night at your house everyone’s favorite night. Use craft paint to paint the wood blocks in your signature colors (or even your seasonal favorites).
2. Threshold Acacia Rectangle Platter. Use gold mylar tape or gold contact paper to dress it up. The best part is that if you get tired of the design you can just peel it up!
3. Threshold Ceramic Napkin Holder. Use on a desk to hold papers or by the foyer to hold mail. Dress it up with a couple coats of spray paint.
4. The Board Dudes Cork Board Tiles. Perfect for adding your new initial to your home.
5. Pyrex 10-Piece Storage Set. Add chalkboard labels to the front of each container so you always know what’s inside.
6. Threshold Storage Bin. Use painter’s tape and craft paint to create a geometric pattern on the front of these bins. Or use a stencil to label their contents.
