Sarah Hearts recaps her the most popular posts of all time and shares insight about blogging full-time

I have exciting news to share today! This very post is officially my one-thousandth post! Can you believe it? I sure can’t!

When I started this blog back in 2008, it was my little corner of the internet where off and on I would share things that inspired me (like color palettes) and things I made (like wedding programs and invitations). My very first post was about my BFA grad show and the blog was just a side project of Sarah Hearts. At the time I focused on selling handmade bags and hand screen printed apparel. I never knew it would become my career. But in the back of my mind it became a little dream of mine because the more I blogged the more I enjoyed it. So when my business evolved into freelance graphic design, and mostly wedding stationery design, I was more active on the blog and shared design projects and the crafty things I was up to. Then my readership grew a bit and I started collaborating with brands while I also contributed to other blogs. And now at the start of 2015, after blogging full-time for two years, I’ve officially logged—or rather—blogged 1000 posts.

To recap of where this blog has been, here’s a look at the most popular posts ever on Sarah Hearts.

My washi tape paper plate basket is my most popular post ever, which I’m slightly embarrassed of because the photos are not so great. A year later, I made this video tutorial of the same project.

Print out these free love coupons for your sweetie this Valentine's Day. Click through for download and video tutorial on how to make the accordion folder.

The second most popular post is my printable love coupons. This tells me that people like to show their signifigant other a little extra love throughout the entire year and not just on Valentine’s Day.

Update and Ikea Malm dresser to look like a mid-century modern piece.

Everyone loves a good Ikea hack and my mid-century modern Ikea Malm hack is no exception. It’s my third most popular post!

Make custom flags for paper straws using this free Word template.

My customizable paper straw flag template has been so popular! I’ve heard from readers that used it for their child’s birthday, wedding, or graduation party.

Learn how to make your own upholstered headboard with this easy to follow tutorial.

My fifth most popular post is my DIY upholstered headboard that I made for our guest room. It was one of my most favorite home projects because it completely changed the look of our guest room.

I’m excited to see what 2015 brings for Sarah Hearts and can’t wait to share 1000 more posts with you. If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, thank you! And if you’re new, I’m so glad you’re here too! You truly encourage me and keep this blog going.

  1. Love this and congrats to your growing brand! Many blessings to you as you continue to grow! I love what you do and so happy your local to Orlando so I can attend your fun events!

  2. Oh my goodness, Sarah, what an accomplishment! I missed those paper plate baskets… I just watched the video, and I’m blown AWAY at how easy and adorable they are. You are also such a natural on camera <3 AND, I totally know what you mean about being embarrassed of a project because of bad photos. I avoid mentioning one of my most popular posts for that same reason -.-
You were the first maker I remember ever following, and will always be one of my biggest inspirations. Cheers to another thousand posts <3
