One of our favorite date night dinners at home is fondue. It’s a bit retro, kinda romantic, and crazy easy to make. Which makes it a favorite recipe of mine!

Many cheese fondue recipes call more expensive cheeses but this cheddar fondue definitely holds a candle to the rest. It can be make with pantry and fridge staples and is just as good as the fondues you’d get at an overpriced fondue restaurant. Watch the video below to see how easy it is to make this fondue recipe on your stove top.

Stovetop Cheddar Cheese Fondue

Ingredients

1/2 cup beef broth / 1 tsp garlic powder / 1 tsp mustard powder / 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese / 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce / apples, bread, carrot and grapes for serving

Directions

  1. Pour beef broth into a pot with a heavy bottom (such as an enamel cast iron pot). Bring to simmer over medium heat. Add the garlic and mustard powder and stir to combine.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the cheddar cheese. Add the worchestershire sauce and continue stirring until the cheese melts. Then enjoy immediately! Serve with an assortment of cubed french bread, apples, carrots and grapes and fondue forks.

  1. Looks so yummy!! And I love that it’s made on the stovetop—I love fondue, but hate pulling out our bulky fondue maker. This is so smart and looks so simple!
