D.I.Y. Fresh Floral Wreath

Last week I made a fresh floral wreath for my sweet grandmother’s memorial service. It was extremely easy to make and I was so happy with the beautiful outcome. I followed this tutorial found on Weddingbee. I purchased the floral foam wreath with paper mache tray at Harry’s Famous Flowers shop in Orlando. You can also purchase them on-line here. I picked up the flowers at Whole Foods and Publix. My favorite part of the wreath is the faux butterflies (I found these at Hobby Lobby for only $1.99/package). My grandmother absolutely loved watching butterflies float around her garden.

We spent several hours there scouting out cool vendors and getting a head start on Christmas shopping! Below is a roundup of some of my favorite vendors from the show. {Thursday I will feature my favorite home decor vendors}

Funky, one-of-a-kind apparel by B-Kao.

Screen printed and stitched headbands and barrettes by Candy Thief.

Floral and folk inspired printed apparel by Maryink.

iPhone 4 case & Jill Bliss Posters

Last week I told you all about Uncommon’s custom iPhone cases. Well, as soon as I posted that blog I ordered one. I decided on a Jill Bliss illustration. Two days later, my case arrived! I absolutely love it! The image is lovely, it’s durable and it shipped pretty stink’n fast. What’s not to love?

I wanted to share some of Jill Bliss’ other illustrations with you. She has some great, super affordable prints in her Etsy shop right now.

Did you order a case last week? If so, what image did you put on it?

Silvia Dekker :: Surface Pattern Design

I have long been a fan of surface pattern design. I just love how shapes and color relate to one another over a space. I also love how surface patterns can be used everywhere– fabric, housewares, industrial products, wall coverings, bedding and more. Silvia Dekker‘s work is right up my alley. Her color choices are bright and oh-so-perfect. And it doesn’t hurt that she uses flora, fauna, and sweet animals.

Where do you like to use pattern? Bedding? Curtains? Clothing? Shoes? Anywhere else?

Lace Wedding Gowns by Pricilla of Boston

When I was looking for my dress two years ago I had the hardest time finding unique, vintage looking, lace gowns. Today, lace gowns are popping up everywhere. The lovely wedding dresses above are from Pricilla of Boston. They have a great selection of gowns with my favorite details: sweetheart necklines, scalloped edges, mermaids, a-lines, and of course beautiful lace! They even have tea-length and above the knee dresses for the non-traditional bride. Above are a few of my favorite ones from the 2010 collection.
