Crafty Bastards : Washington D.C. Handmade Craft Fair

Today’s home post concludes my final roundup of favorite vendors from Crafty Bastards. Below are my favorite vendors that make great home decor items!

If you are looking for a unique serving bowl or little gift, Pinkkiss Pottery is just the thing! Beautiful clay dinnerware with block printed imagery.

Craft Chi had bold, geometrical screen printed textiles. I love all their tea towels!

Home Sweet had gorgeous block printed textiles. They even had a printing plate to give you a sneak peak into the process.

Arcane Arts creates intricate mixed media work. The drawings were available in prints and pillow covers.

Crafty Bastards : Washington D.C. Handmade Craft Fair

This weekend I went over to Washington D.C. to visit my good friend and old college roommate, Jen. On Saturday, we went into Adams Morgan and went to Crafty Bastards 2010. We spent several hours there scouting out cool vendors and getting a head start on Christmas shopping! Below is a roundup of some of my favorite vendors from the show. {Thursday I will feature my favorite home decor vendors}

Brainstorm has awesome screen printed posters for sale. I wanted all of them!

Funky, one-of-a-kind apparel by B-Kao.

Screen printed and stitched headbands and barrettes by Candy Thief.

Floral and folk inspired printed apparel by Maryink.

Handmade Wedding Banners

This week’s wedding post features banners! A few months ago, I created the “Sew in Love” banner shown above for a photo shoot with Shannon Smith. Since then, I have fallen in love with the idea of using banners to communicate. There are so many great custom, handmade options out there. Above are few of my favorites.

Handmade Wedding Hair Accessories

The very talented Myra Callan of Twigs and Honey just released a new collection! Myra made so many beautiful accessories for myself and my wedding party nearly two years ago. I am so excited to see how her work has evolved. All items shown above are part of her new collection and ship in 4 weeks. Someone please go buy the beaded lace head wrap… or I think I may!

Etsy Pick of the Week :: Gems by Em

My Etsy pick of the week is the beautiful sterling silver and copper necklaces by Gems by Em. Each pendant is customizable. You can order a necklace with a quote, initials, or names. I think they would be a perfect bridesmaid gift, a great gift for mom, or a nice treat for yourself. I love the copper heart necklace featured below.

a diy wedding – part 3

invitations:

our invitations were completely diy. again we ordered the folders, cardstock, envelopes and labels from paper source (i absolutely love that store, i wish there was one in florida). i created them in adobe illustrator and then we hand screen printed them at kevin’s office. they were definitely a labor of love. the probably took around 15 hours to print… but we love the results! we both love the screen printing process and i was adamant about not printing these on a inkjet printer. we did use an inkjet printer to print the labels that sealed the envelopes and for the address labels as well.
