Halloween Fall Centerpiece

I’ve been slowly trying to add a subtle fall touch to our home one room at a time. I decided to start with the dining room since that’s where most of our guests like to hang out. A few thrift store finds, candy corn, and spray and you have the above centerpiece! It was inspired by Sherry and John of  Young House Love’s awesome centerpiece.

I picked up the milk glass parfait bowl (not quite sure what you would call this) at the Salvation Army store for $1.50! I filled it up with Clementine tangerines since they are in season and delicious.

Our little owl napkin holder is always on our table. We love it’s kitsch-iness. It was given to my grandmother by her cousin a very long time ago. I always wanted it and last year she said I could have it!

I picked up some shellacked gourds and small pumpkins at the grocery store for $.99 each and spray painted them white. Now they look like little ceramic West Elm inspired finds.

a diy wedding – part 3

invitations:

our invitations were completely diy. again we ordered the folders, cardstock, envelopes and labels from paper source (i absolutely love that store, i wish there was one in florida). i created them in adobe illustrator and then we hand screen printed them at kevin’s office. they were definitely a labor of love. the probably took around 15 hours to print… but we love the results! we both love the screen printing process and i was adamant about not printing these on a inkjet printer. we did use an inkjet printer to print the labels that sealed the envelopes and for the address labels as well.

a diy wedding – part 2

program fans:

fans frontfans back

The next DIY project we’ve done is make program fans. Since the ceremony will be outside in Floirda we thought our guests would appreciate a fan. To cut costs we made fans that were also our programs. I designed our programs in adobe ilustrator. IF any one is interested in what fonts I am using for the wedding… Futura medium in all caps and buffet script (from veer) for our monogram and names. I bought this cardstock from paper-source and printed it on my little hp printer at home. We purchased the fan handles on-line at a great price. We used PVA glue to glue both sides and the stick together. Then we finished with a 1/4″ gray bow around the handle.

You can create custom wedding invitations cards, like the ones above, with PsPrint.
