I love print. Maybe it’s because I’m the daughter of a print expert, but I have always had an affinity for paper and ink. With the advent of the Photoshop, many once handmade processes are now simulated on screen. Pugly Pixel has a great Photoshop tutorial on how to create a letterpress look. I still love the feel of imprinted paper however I can’t wait to give this tutorial a try! For those of you who love little letter pressed notecards and gift tags, this may be an affordable alternative.
It’s art and design day again. Today’s post comes from my friend Mitchell, who told me about this fun app this weekend. I’m sure by now you have seen or heard about kinetic typography. You know, the motion graphics clips that use connecting words in a clever way? Well now you can have your Twitter and Facebook feeds displayed in lovely kinetic type on your iOS device. Check Spout out here.
Do you bring out the special silverware or heirloom pieces for holidays? I love using our “fancier” serving pieces for Thanksgiving. Here are some beautiful plates and platters you will want to add to your collection.
