Alt Summit is just 2 days away and I still have freelance projects to wrap up and outfits to plan! One of the things I was able to cross off my list this weekend was my business cards. I’ll admit this was second attempt cards this month. I first ordered some off an online print shop but wasn’t thrilled with the paper thickness and realized I didn’t love the design. So last Monday I whipped up this design using my new heart collage. I made the little illustration a few months ago but haven’t officially started using it. I thought Alt would be the perfect place to “get my feet wet” with my slightly new branding. I went with Moo‘s luxe business cards that use lovely bright white triple thick paper.

To add a touch of Sarah Hearts I decided to try my hand at edge painting. It was super easy and I’m so thrilled with the results. If you want to try it out, neatly stack up your cards and make sure the edges are aligned on all sides. Then place a rock or another heavy object on top that you don’t mind getting paint on (I used a can of condensed milk with a rock on top). Then spray a thin coat of paint on all sides. The top card will get paint on it but luckily Moo sends a coupon card that’s the exact same size as the business cards. Let the paint dry completely then add another coat. Repeat this until the paint looks solid. I used Liquidex spray paint and had to apply 4 coats to my cards.

If you’re going to Alt, I can’t wait to meet you and give you one of my cards!

  1. Cool! Business cards have been on my mind lately and I love this idea. So simple, but it really makes your cards stand out! Good luck at Alt!

  2. I hope you don’t mind me asking, but where did you get the iphone case shown in the picture above? I’ve been looking for a new one and I absolutely love it!
