Our Trip to Nashville

We visited Nashville and here are some of the amazing places we visited and things we ate!

Last week we went to Nashville to hang out with my brother and his girlfriend Sarah. He moved to Nashville nearly three years ago but we haven’t had a chance to visit him since he’s always on the road. our schedules finally aligned so we packed our bags and headed to the music city. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that we spent most of our time eating. Since my family are a bunch of foodies, almost all our travel is planned around food.

Today I wanted share some of the awesome places we visited. I have to say Nashville is now one of my favorite cities! Right after we arrived we headed to Hops + Crafts in the Gulch for some delicious pretzels and beer. We then checked into our fun little airbnb which was located right on Belmont Blvd. and as the name implies, it was right next to Belmont University. We ended that day with burgers and sodas at The Pharmacy in East Nashville. I had the falafel burger and a strawberry ginger ale.

One day we met up with some family for a late breakfast at Loveless. This Nashville staple is always delicious and worth the wait. We came late on a weekday and walked right in but one the weekends it’s know to have a very long wait. I recommend the biscuits with pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes.

We walked around the 12 South neighborhood and checked out some really cool shops. I loved wandering around White’s Mercantile and Imogen + Willie. The later is famous for it’s custom tailored jeans but we went there to check out the entire Warby Parker collection. I’ve been in need of sunglasses and choose these cute frames.

Though my brother would never admit it, he’s a coffee snob but that’s ok because that meant we visited Crema. I had a sweet and salty chai topped with pistachios. After a great meal (and cheese plate!) at the Silly Goose we tried some unique flavors of ice cream at Jeni’s. I opted for the spicy cinnamon cayne chocomole.

We also visited the new location Hatch Show Print. My brother’s friend is the manager so we got to take a quick tour around the place. I could have stayed there for hours watching the presses run and exploring all their vintage wood plates and type.

We had an early happy hour and headed to Pinewood Social for cocktails and bowling. Yep, I got last place. The fried broccoli was the best appetizer we tried and I recommend trying the humble magnificent which is a cocktail with apple brandy, Pimms, lemon, cinnamon, orange and mint. We stopped at Edley’s for some bbq, which happens to be one of my brother’s favorite foods (second to beer and burritos).

Before our afternoon flight I ran over to the Textile Fabric Store and stocked up… ok splurged on some gorgeous fabric. My mother in law, who is a Nashville native, always returns with an extra suitcase full of fabric after each visit. I just can’t wait to find some time to sew up two more Out and About dresses!

My other must visit place was Marché. We grabbed breakfast there on our last day. Though I didn’t try the croissant French toast (which I hear is a must) since we shared a basket of all their croissants, I did try a savory crepe which was rich and buttery.

Would you enjoy seeing more city guides like this on the blog? I’d love your feedback!
