House Tour: Guest Bedroom

Since I shared our gold polka dot guest bathroom last week, I thought I’d share the guest bedroom today. This room is the least decorated space in the entire house. That’s mostly because it’s usually the place we store random things like old iMacs and Christmas trees. Then when we have company, we just move this mess of stuff to the garage. Does anyone else have the same problem? It’s funny how infrequently used spaces tend to attract clutter. I do have a disclaimer though, I removed the said iMacs and Christmas tree before taking these photos.

Since most of the wall colors in our home are pretty neutral and light, I choose a bold deep teal for the guest room. It’s totally unexpected and I just love that.

In the corner we have the arm chair that matches our living room sofa. We previously used this in the living room in our old apartment, but it’s too large for our current living room now so we moved it here. It doesn’t match perfectly but it’s a good quality leather chair and we wanted to hang on to it incase we have space for it in our next home. I’ve been wanting to sew up a white canvas slipcover for it but just haven’t found the time.

After getting several really high quotes to custom frame this silkscreen print, I decided to make my own using balsa wood and some eye-hooks. I hung it using some orange and white twine.

This night stand is pretty special to me. Kevin bought it for me from a thrift store when we were dating. I used it all throughout college and finally updated it by sanding it down and spray painting it this bright leafy green color.
