Even beginners can sew up this knit maxi skirt. Use a bright floral to make a skirt that's perfect for spring!

When we were in Austin last weekend I stopped by Stitch Lab and picked up some bright floral fabric. I just couldn’t wait to sew up something so I started with this bright pixelated floral print. Since it’s a knit polyester and I had just less than two yards I decided to sew up a maxi skirt.

I used this pattern, which I purchased on Etsy, and pretty much followed it exactly. I did choose to hem the bottom for a more finished look. I cut the fabric in the petite length but ended up trimming 6″ off the bottom. The left side has a slit which makes it so easy to walk in. This fabric is so flowy and bright that it’s just perfect for spring (and almost year round here in Florida).
