Show your besties some love this Valentine’s Day with this fun and festive printable. I’ve created these super cute, fully customizable printable Valentine’s Day cards. They can be used as is—as a flat Valentine’s Day card or they can be paired with fun DIY painted wood bead necklaces and used as jewelry display cards.
After creating the heart patterns, I customized my valentines using Avery’s Design & Print Online software and you can too! It’s a free feature on Avery’s site that allows you to create and customize graphics for any of their products. Just select a product, upload the graphics (available to download below) and customize it with your own text, choice of fonts and more. Then print it out on the Avery 8387 White Matte Postcards for Inkjet Printers. And you’re half way there to making the cutest valentines ever!
It’s as simple and click and print! I opted to create simple painted wood bead necklaces for my girlfriends, but you could also use these valentines to display friendship bracelets, flair pins, and bangles.

Directions
- Download the MyAvery template and open it using Avery’s Design & Print Online software. Customize your valentines by adding your own text. You can change the font, font size, color and position of the text using this site.
- Print the cards and tear along the perforated lines. I recommend printing a low-quality grayscale print of your cards on copy paper before loading your printer with the postcard paper. This way you can make adjustments to the alignment before you print on the good stuff.
- Paint the wood beads in any color you like. Use a very small round brush to add small details like tiny hearts, dots or x’s and o’s. Allow the beads to dry completely and then paint each with a coat of matte varnish. This will seal the paint and prevent it from rubbing off onto clothing.
- Use an awl to make two holes near the top third of each card. Using the end of the necklace with the smaller clasp, thread the chain through the holes. Position the necklace so it hangs nicely on the front of the card and then secure the excess on the back side of the card with a piece of washi tape. Now it’s ready to gift!
Not only do these make fun, one-of-a-kind gifts, they also become a sweet reminder of your friendship. Nothing like a little DIY to identify your girl gang.
These are so cute! I love those pink and white heart ones !!
What a sweet idea, Sarah! I love how they’re totally for adults and also totally evocative of school Valentines. Super fun! xoxo
