Last week I spent a jam-packed three days in NYC attending the Better Homes & Gardens Stylemaker event. Blogging events are always fun because you get to meet new talented ladies and hang out with internet friends. It was a busy trip but I truly enjoyed meeting the editors behind BHG and connecting with so many talented ladies. Thanks to PJ, Jeran, Kirsten, and honorary roomie Joy for being the best roommates anyone could ask for. If you’re not already following their blogs you absolutely should. They are some talented ladies! I’m convinced bloggers are the kindest, funniest, most authentic people I’ve ever met.
If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen a few of these photos already but I wanted to share a few more!
I was the first to arrive into the city so what was my first stop? Fishs Eddy of course. I’ve been collecting their dinnerware for nearly ten years but never visited their store. I wanted everything. Later in the afternoon I met up with PJ and we stopped for lunch at Shake Shack and lucky me it was red velvet custard day. I of course had to order the largest size they have.
I was in desperate need of a real mani and pedi since I have been DIY-ing them for the last few months. So we got manis and pedis and because it was slightly cool out a pumpkin spice chai was the perfect pick-me-up. We headed to Lulu & Me for dinner and met Ashley for dinner. I ordered a guava and passion fruit cocktail and a giant plate of mussels. Two of my faves: fancy drinks and delicious shell fish. Jeran and Kirsten made us each roommate gifts. How sweet is that?
The next day we went over to the event which took place in the boardwalk themed pop-up restaurant, the Brighton. I wore the outfit I shared a few weeks ago. It seems like polka dots and florals are becoming my signature pieces. During the day the BHG editors shared some insight about the magazine and collaborating with them. We even got some table styling advice from the talented Eddy Ross. Later that night they hosted a cocktail party and though it looked like we planned it, well all wore jewel tones to the party. The drink of the night? Pineapple, mint and champagne. Simple yet so delicious.
One of the dessert tables at the party was ice cream and sorbet scoops served in bowls along side eos lip balm. How brilliant is that? Such a cute idea for a girls party or shower. The next morning we headed to midtown for a tour of the Meredith NYC offices. We chatted with Ellen Miller, the fashion and beauty editor, and she shared some insights including her favorite fall finds like this awesome vintage floral top. We also got a tour of the Ladies Home Journal and Family Circle test kitchen and photo studios.
I somehow managed to fit all this stuff in my small suitcase and in a tote. I’m still sorting through all the awesome swag!
Thanks so much to Kaelin and the entire Better Homes & Gardens team for hosting such a fun event!

Don’t you want everything from Fishs Eddy now? I was just bummed that I couldn’t fit anything in my suitcase!
Yay! This was so much fun and I’m SO happy that we got to meet. You’re just lovely to be around. I just wish we all lived a little closer to each other. Here’s hoping a New York trip becomes an annual thing! :) xo
I’m so happy we met too! An annual NYC trip sounds like a plan!
That pretty much sums it up! So happy that we had so much time to get to know each other. I already miss our late-night conversations about blogging!
