A few weeks ago I shared how my sewing obsession was rekindled. I’ve been trying to sew one item a week though it seems like that’s much easier said than done. I revisited the tiny pocket tank pattern and sewed up this swiss dot chambray tank. I have to say, I love it even more than the first version.
I used Graineline Studio’s tiny pocket tank pattern but made a couple small alternations this time around. Rather than following one side, I made the top of the top a size 8 and the bottom a size 10. This time around it fit perfectly. I found the Robert Kaufman dot chambray fabric on clearance at my local fabric shop for $7/yard. I can’t find it anywhere online but you may be able to find it at a fabric shop.
My favorite detail about this tank is how I used a contrasting patterned fabric for the bias tape. I’ve always been smitten by clothing and accessories that have cute linings. I just love finding pattern in unexpected places so I used some scrap floral fabric I had leftover from making my scout woven tee.
