As part of our DIY kitchen update I’m planning on painting the dining room. If you may recall from our house tour, the dining room is currently a warm yellow and one wall has a bold chevron print that I painted. Since we’re going to be lightening up our kitchen by painting the cabinets white, I thought it would be nice to brighten up and refresh the dining room too.
I’ve enjoyed the chevron accent wall but I really don’t want to keep the current color palette so I’m thinking of wallpapering over it. There are so many options it’s hard to know where to start! I’m playing with the idea of designing my own pattern and getting it printed on removable wallpaper so if I ever want to go back to the yellow chevron pattern I can.
Here’s a closer look at the pattern I created, which is based of one of my favorite wallpapers I’ve designed. My first thought was using gray and a mustard yellow since the other walls are going to be painted a light gray.
I’m really loving the gray and yellow pattern but I thought it would be fun to share a couple other options I photoshoped.
Which color palette is your favorite? Do you think this would look fab in another palette? I’d love to know!
Sarah, I just your husbands post on Reddit and wanted to let you know your website is beautiful and you’ve inspired me to start documenting what I do at home, as well as my travels and design work.
