I’ve always loved decorating Easter eggs. Every Easter I kinda have to convince Kevin that we need to decorate Easter eggs. I loved decorating them as a kid and I’m just as content doing that today. There’s something about a holiday tradition that involves crafting that I just adore.
This Easter I decided to focus on egg holders rather than the eggs. I picked up some plain porcelain egg cups and gave them a quick update with some paint. This is a super quick and east DIY that has so many uses! You can use them to show of your favorite decorated eggs or use them as place cards for your Easter meal. Just write each guests name on a solid painted or dyed egg and place it in the cup.
Learn how easy they are to make in the video tutorial below.
Time: 20 minutes
Supplies: egg cups / multi-purpose craft paint / makeup wedges / washi tape
Love the way the eggs are painted? I used the same process as creating my spotted terra-cotta pots. You can also create your own gold dipped porcelain spoons to serve with your eggs or other Easter bites.
How will you be decorating your eggs this Easter?
I’ve seen a lot of easter eggs this spring, and this I think it the most unique I’ve seen – I love the colorful egg holders and the black and white eggs! Nice work!
Thanks so much, Kate!
I love everything about these! Thanks for sharing :)
I’m so glad!
These are super cute!! My boyfriend and I actually eat soft boiled eggs pretty often, so this would be such a fun way to dress up our plain egg cups. Happy Easter! :)
These are perfect for eating soft boiled eggs! Happy Easter to you too!
