Gold Polka Dot Bathroom Walls

Gold Polka Dot Bathroom Walls | Sarah Hearts

I spent the entire week working on our “quick” guest bathroom update. I thought it would only take me a day or two, but I’ve found it to be a bit more tedious than I anticipated. I cannot wait until it’s done (and the mess is cleaned up!) and I can show you the before and after photos.

Even though the project isn’t complete, I was too excited to wait to share what the walls look like! I just finished them last night and I’m in love (Please ignore the gaps in the crown molding and the streaky door frames, I still have to caulk the crown molding and paint the door frame).

I started by marking the wall in a 10″ x 10″ grid. I used my large level that also has measurements on it to make the wall. After making off the grid, I placed the first series of gold polka on the walls. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the 2″ round dots out of gold vinyl. If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can also buy already cut vinyl on Etsy.

After applying the dots in a square grid, I used the level again to mark where the center dots would go. You could skip this step and just eye it, but I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I spent the extra time doing this…though I totally just place a couple by eye because I could’t fit my level in some places!

I can’t wait to show you the before and after! Have a lovely weekend! xo

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Such a fun idea to use polka dots in the bathroom. Can’t wait to see the full room. ;)

This looks so great! Can’t wait to see the full final pics! p.s. I bought black on tan polka dot ribbon and actually said to myself when I threw it in the cart “aww it’s Sarah Hearts pattern polka dots” haha.

Adore this! I’ve been wanting stripes in my house for a while but I held off because of the polka dot projects I’ve been seeing. You’re convincing me that I should totally do it!

I was just wondering if the adhesive vinyl comes off of walls if you wanted to take it down?

Yes, it will if you use removable adhesive vinyl! Many brands specify whether there are permanent or removable.
