So I got a bit carried away with my Ikea hacking last week. I loved the first dresser so much that I painted and added Overlays to the second one. Then I loved that so much I painted and added knobs to our Ikea Malm bedside tables. I just noticed that Ikea no longer sells these… and probably for a good reason. As you can see, they don’t line up with the back of the bed (although we tried our darnedest).
Here’s a look at my “new” bedside table.
I’m still swooning over the streamline knobs. Seriously, you should get them. They’re also available in brass and copper finishes.
And here’s his side. Notice the difference in reading materials? Oh, and don’t mind my never hemmed sheer window panels.
Here’s my tutorial on how to paint Ikea laminate furniture. Want to customize your own Ikea furntiure? Overlays is giving away a $50 gift card so you can! Click here for the contest details.
Woah impressive! And can I just say – I love your dotted bedset!

I rellay like the way the pictures are full of light and optimism, and not sultry. And Sarah is such a beautiful young woman, I’m sure you had a lovely time that day! What kind of camera do you have? I have a Nikon D3000 (it was a graduation present from my parents).Thank you for sharing the pictures here!Ellen Michelle
