I know everyone is all about fries before guys these days but when it comes to fried snacks, I’ll take potato chips over fries any day. Especially when they’re paired with a delicious sandwich.
If you too love a good potato chip, then you gotta try this ridiculously easy recipe. No deep fryer is needed to make these crispy potato chips at home. Just a potato and a microwave is all you need to have homemade chips. And since you aren’t messing with a fryer, they are so much healthier too.

Microwave Potato Chips
ingredients
1 potato
1 tbsp olive oil
coarse salt
supplies
mandoline
parchment paper
microwave-safe plate
directions
- Wash and dry the potato. Use a mandoline on the thinnest setting to slice the potato into thin chips. Place them in a bowl and add the olive oil. Toss them to distribute the oil.
- Cut a piece of parchment paper to fit the microwave-safe plate. Place the potato slices on the parchment lined plate in a single layer. Sprinkle generously with coarse salt.
- Microwave for 5 minutes, or until they become crispy. The exact time will vary depending on the wattage of your microwave. Devour—or serve—immediately. Happy snacking!
