A few weeks ago I had the honor of decorating the table for a blogger themed dinner. The dinner was organized by The Dinner Party Project, which is an amazing concept by Dana Marie Roquemore that brings together people in Orlando through great good and conversation.
Earlier this year I attended a lottery dinner, which consisted of myself, the host, and six other guests that were selected at random. It was such an amazing night, even more an introvert like myself, that when Dana told me she was organizing a blogger themed dinner I jumped at the opportunity to decorate. I created super simple decor by making more of my color block wood vases and using the same method to create matching votive candles.
I continued the color blocked theme by adding wood veneer scraps left over from the vases and votives to the bottom of each menu. The script font I used is Manhattan Darling, one of my favorite fonts right now.
If you’re local to central Florida I encourage you to sign-up to attend a dinner. You’ll enjoy great food (and wine + cocktails) and connect with some of the people that make Orlando a really cool place.
Want to make your own wood wrapped vases? Check out my tutorial for supplies and instructions.
Since the votives are slightly tapered, I recommend applying the wood veneer first then painting the color blocked section. I found it helpful to create a paper template for them so I didn’t have to guess at the size each time.
When I walked in I knew the room had been ‘touched up’ by Sarah Hearts. Great job, friend.
