Our next #sarahheartsorlando stop is at one of my most favorite restaurants in town. The Strand is a farm-t0-table eatery in the Mills 50 neighborhood of Orlando that never disappoints. The serve up delicious, fresh southern-inspired fare for both lunch and dinner.
Their menu changes daily but there are a few staples, like the Strand burger and the Porkzilla (a loaded pork sandwich) that are often featured. Like most restaurants I visit, I almost always order the daily special. They always have a featured salad that is absolutely delicious and often have a daily special that has fresh Florida fish. Many of their ingredients are locally sourced and they have a large chalkboard by the door that lists where all the ingredients used came from.
The place is filled with simple, mid-century inspired decor. The walls are a perfect mint green! Though the seating area is small and you’ll often need to wait for a table when stopping in for dinner on a weekend, you can almost always grab a seat at the bar.
At our most recent visit, I of course, ordered the daily salad which was one of my favorites to date! The greens were topped with fresh blueberries, spiced pecans, and dressed with a bacon vinaigrette.
Another one of their staples is a huge fried chicken sandwich topped with bacon and house made pickles. I always skip the fries (which I heard are good) and order their daily grain—this time it was a delicious pesto quinoa.

Next time you’re looking for a new lunch spot or want a new date night restaurant, stop in at The Strand. You’ll be glad you did and always make sure you save room for dessert! Their olive oil cake is moist and simply heavenly. It’s topped with fresh citrus and whipped cream.

I`m really enjoying this series of posts! The photography is just sublime. Orlando seems like a very cool place :)
I know, aren’t Amalie’s photos amazing? Orlando is way more (and way cooler) than just the mouse!
