Happy New Year!
I’m starting off my 5th year of blogging full time with a post featuring the reader favorite projects and recipes of 2016. Before we jump into the round up, I just want to say thanks so much for reading my blog, following me on all those different social channels and really just making my dream job possible. I’ll be sharing more about last year in my year in review real soon, but until then I wanted to say a big thanks!
So without further ado, here are your top 10 favorite Sarah Hearts projects of 2016!
1. Microwave Potato Chips
This one was your all time favorite and one of mine too. Just looking at that photo makes me want to snack on some of these chips now. What made it a favorite? I think that it didn’t require a deep fryer making it a quick and healthier recipe!
2. Mini Ice Cream Cakes
The most popular video I created in 2016! This one has almost 7 million views and I’m pretty sure it’s because who can say know to that hidden layer of crunchy goodness?
3. Printable Embroidery
The top DIy project of the year. I love this one because it combines the digital (a crisp illustration) and the handmade (embroidery). I’d love to play with this idea more this year. Would you like to see more printable embroidery designs this year, too?
4. Office Label Watermelon Stickers
I don’t think I’ll ever grown tired of watermelon printed anything and apparently you feel the same. In this easy gift box tutorial I show you how to use those office color coding labels to make cute watermelon stickers.
5. Oven Baked Onion Rings
This one was my second most watched video of the year with over 1.4 million views! Another junk food hack that satisfies those bloom’n onion awesome blossom crispy onion ring craving. My recipe includes a lightened up version of the special sauce too.
6. Easy Patterned Clutches
I used my Silhouette Cameo to personalize these store bought clutches. The trick? Using heat transfer vinyl and a mini iron. My favorite part is what’s inside.
7. Felt Faux Succulent Wreath
This one is still hanging on our front door. Proof that you really don’t need a green thumb to make this ever green wreath—just a glue gun! I love the touch of gold and modern look of this wreath.
8. Anthropologie Inspired Gold Leaf Resin Coasters
This project kick started my love for all things resin. It was inspired by a set of coasters I spotted at Anthropologie and my desire to finally give resin a try. After making these, I made these gold heart brooches. Those cute cocktail picks were a gift from Kelly!
9. Painted Dipped Ikea Outdoor Bench
Proof that everyone still loves a good Ikea hack! This bench is still rock’n in our back patio and doubles as extra setting when we have people over for fried rice (one of Kevin’s hobbies). I also use it as a potting bench when planting herbs on the patio, which I can’t get Daisy to stop eating!
10. No-Sew Wire Headband
The idea popped into my head for this project after I finished sewing my Rifle Paper Co. dress. I had all these long, narrow scraps of fabric that I just couldn’t bear to toss and I think I was wearing a 5+ year old wire headband at the time. So I thought I should use them to make my own. I still wear this one quite often and plan on making more with remnant fabric.
What was your favorite Sarah Hearts DIY project or recipe of 2016? I’d love to know!

Ofcourse I read all of them! At the sane time, I love your snap :) At the end of the day I absolutely watch them all :)
