We’ve officially been Los Angeles residents for 1 month!
Though it feels like we’ve only been here for a week since I’ve been traveling every weekend of the past month. Many of you asked for a look at our new home so today I’m sharing a a look at the Venice bungalow we’re renting. It’s very much a work in progress—there’s little on the walls, we’ve ordered a new sofa, and the backyard is completely bare. So over the next few months, as we get settled into our new home, I’ll be sharing how we it feel more like home.
I just love how bright the house is! That’s something I really adore in our new house. Oh, and those floors aren’t to shabby either. I’ve always wanted wood floors in our house and these are just gorgeous. Not too dark or too red.
Don’t mind the boxes (and messes) throughout the house!
I adore this little gallery wall above our tv. We re-styled most of the art we previously had displayed in the foyer of our Florida house. It’s probably the most “finished” nook in the entire house.
I was super sad to say goodbye to our kitchen in Florida since we recently redid it (check out the full before and after here). But I have to say that this tiny kitchen rocks! It has way more storage than I’ve ever had and the granite is a cinch to clean.
Since our laundry area is now exposed, I’ve been on the hunt for cute fabric laundry bins but haven’t found any that will work. I’m thinking our plain washer and dryer just need to be covered in vinyl decals, don’t you?
Our hacked Ikea Malm dressers survived the move! Our room is a lot smaller than before so we downsized a bit and are using the mid-century side table I painted that was in our den as a bedside table.
Here’s our office. Which, as you can see, is very much a work in process. We’re going to add loads of shelving to make it way more function and way less messy.
Here’s the backyard which definitely needs some love. I’m picturing lots of potted plants, some patio furniture and maybe even an outdoor rug?
Can’t wait to make this little house our new home!
Sarah, it looks so great already and it’s going to be filled with your creativity! I’m so happy for you two!
Your house is so nice and bright! And for being in your house for only a month you’ve got a lot done.
Greetings from someone who moved in May and still has boxes and stuff everywhere.
What a cute space! I really love the dark floors and your kitchen is gorgeous. Welcome to California friend! xoxo
