Mother’s Day Flower Shaped French Toast
Today’s post is by Holly of Club Crafted
If I were a mom, I know I would LOVE breakfast in bed for Mother’s Day! A fun way to surprise a mom this Mother’s Day would be homemade floral French toast with each piece cut like a flower and topped with powdered sugar and fresh fruit. I mean, I love flowers, but flower-shaped French toast is a close second. Serve it with a mimosa if you really want to make her morning!

A fun way to surprise a mom this Mother’s Day would be homemade floral French toast with each piece cut like a flower and topped with powdered sugar and fresh fruit. Serve it with a mimosa if you really want to make her morning!
- 8 thick bread, sliced
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- powdered sugar, optional
- flower shaped cookie cutter
Use a flower shaped cookie cutter to press the shape from each piece of bread. Note, don’t discard the rest of the bread! You can save it to make homemade croutons!
In a small bowl, whisk the eggs with a fork. Then mix in vanilla, milk and cinnamon.
Heat a griddle or large skillet on low-medium heat with a bit of nonstick spray.
Dip each flower-shaped piece of bread in the egg mixture to coat both sides and place on griddle for several minutes until golden. Flip and cook until golden.
Serve warm, sprinkled with powdered sugar and syrup or with a side of fresh fruit.
Save leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Simply reheat by cooking each side in a skillet within 2 days.
