Simple DIY Mother's Day Planter Gift | Sarah Hearts for 6th Street Design School

Mother’s Day is coming up (it’s a week from Sunday!) and that means you have just a bit more than a week to figure out what to give your mom. I’m over on 6th Street Design School today sharing this simple DIY up-cycled gift. All you need to do is download and print the label of your choice (there are 4 designs to choose from) and wrap it around a container then plant your mom’s favorite plant in it. Simple, green, and perfect for mother’s day!

Head over to 6th Street Design School to view the entire post (including step-by-step photos)!

I wanted to share a peek into my design process! I used black gouche and a wet paint brush to paint the watercolor texture. I then scanned it and played with the colors in Photoshop to create the final 4 designs. I hope you enjoy seeing how I created things :)
