DIY Handmade Gifts :: Washi Tape Candles

washi tape candles diy gift

Here’s my second gift idea: washi tape decorated candles. This gift only takes a couple of minutes to make and is so cute and festive. I used only metallic silver and gold tape, however, you could use any color or pattern.

You can give one candle or a few. One candle would look lovely on a small, circular glass candle dish.

washi tape candles diy giftSupplies:
• Candles (I purchased large unscented candles from Old Time Pottery for $2.99 each)
• Washi tape (I have over 30 rolls now! You can purchase it here or here)
• Optional tray ($4.99 from Ikea)

[…] you know that I’m crazy about washi tape. I stick it on just about everything in our home (candles, invitations, wall art). Last month, I hosted a Crafternoon and wanted to create some cheap, quick […]

I am reading your blog like a book after stumbling upon it…somehow! LOL Anyway, can these candles be burned with the washi tape on them, or are they only for decoration?

Amy, thanks for taking the time and reading my blog! :) I burned the candles with the washi tape on them. The heat caused the tape to wrinkle slightly. I just had to cut/tear the tape around the edges as the candle burned so the tape would not burn. If you do that, they are just fine.
